Linda knew in her heart of hearts that a quarryman is just what she needed. She had climbed the Himlayas. Canoed the Amazon. Skied the Matterhorn looking for just the right mate. After hearing Lotus Dickey’s amazing music, Linda went on the search of a quarryman. She searches to this day, alas, in vain. That wonderful music that inspired Linda is yours in the Lotus Dickey Song Book.
Lotus was a hard-working man who raised his children on Grease Gravy Hill in Orange County Indiana. While working in Bedford in the limestone quarry, Lotus wrote song after song. He would compose the sings while down in the ground working his shift. His memory held the words until he got back home to record them. Considered a Hoosier Treasure, Lotus performed at the White House and many others festival throughout the country. Here is a tremendous collection of his work complete with a CD.
