Saturday AM Classes– Choose “A” and “B” Choices
Beginning with Maureen Sellers- We’ll learn how to hold, tune and strum the dulcimer. Learn basic fingering and some easy rhythm helpers.
Novice with Heidi Muller-– Lots of songs and tunes emphasizing harmonies and chords.
Intermediate with Dave Haas– Have more fun with fiddle tunes by moving the melody and chords to different positions on the fretboard. Techniques and fingerings that facilitate smooth playing will be covered. (DAD)
Strong Intermediate—Advanced with Tull Glazener– Tin Pan Alley Tunes– learn songs from the late 19th to early 20th century, their history and a bit about the publishing industry. D-a-d, capo required.
Strong Intermediate—Advanced with Bing Futch– Get Rhythm! Study the fundamental aspects of groove, from counting beats and exercises designed to get you strumming fluently to mixing and matching poly-rhythms and incorporating stops, accents, mutes and more!

1:00-3:00 PM Orchestra Class-Saturday afternoon with Janet Swartz and the Loose Canons
So Folk Orchestra
participants can attend other Sat. afternoon
events, Orchestra Workshop will be held from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm on
Sat. and other Sat. afternoon events will begin at 3:15 pm. Also, if
you are thinking of participating in the Folk Orchestra and happen to
own a bass dulcimer, please bring it as well as your standard
dulcimer. (As always, other acoustic instruments are also welcome in
the Folk Orchestra.)
